Daniel Craig To Return As JAMES BOND!

Now that MGM is back in business, it can only mean one thing! YES…James Bond is coming back with his licence to kill – Variety reports!

Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairmen and Chief Execs of MGM, joined Bond movie producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli in announcing that the 23rd Bond movie will be released on the 9th November 2012, with production starting late this year. Wooohooo!

The low-key greenlight announcement also officially confirmed that Daniel Craig will be back as 007, with Sam Mendes to direct a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. MGM had already been working up plans for a 2012 yearlong commemoration of the golden anniversary of the first Bond pic, 1962’s ‘Doctor No‘ and Mendes was long rumored to be the leading candidate to helm.

So what don’t we know? As yet, there have been no details regarding an official title for the movie, neither has there been any indication whether Dame Judi Dench is returning  as  Bond‘s boss M (or any other female lead / villain casting news).

One thing is clear, and that is that all eyes will be on MGM to see if the lion can stay out of the red and produce a fantastic new Bond movie. Because after all the Bond franchise has been the most durable in Hollywood, making this one of the studio’s main lifelines. It’s without a shadow of a doubt that new bosses Barber and Birnbaum will need to make this their first big success.

Keep it here for more Bond news!
