Hollywood Comes To London For Empire’s ‘BIG SCREEN’ Event!

 

The event movie fans have been waiting for is nearly upon us, and it’s jam-packed with talks, screenings, and exhibitions which will make it feel like all your Christmases have come at once! Yes folks, I’m referring to the one, the only… EMPIRE‘s BIG SCREEN weekend!

 

For those of you who haven’t got a clue as to what I’m talking about, here’s a brief background.
 

The event is being held at London’s O2 venue, during the weekend of the 12th – 14th August, 2011. It is the UK’s first event of its kind to offer a candid and in-depth look into the movie industry, and is backed by some of Hollywood’s biggest studios – including Paramount, Walt Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Marvel, Warner Bros., Universal, Sony and many more!

So, why go all the way to Hollywood to see behind-the-scenes of a movie, when you can see and hear movie directors, writers, actors and movie score masters reveal their inspirations and tricks of the trade, right here in good ole London!
 

 

Here are just some of the previews and activities taking place over the weekend:
 

• First look at what’s coming soon, including: ‘The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn‘, ‘Conan The Barbarian 3D‘, Guillermo Del Toro‘s ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark‘, James Cameron’s ‘Titanic 3D‘, the Justin Timberlake sci-fi ‘In Time‘, alien invasion movie ‘The Darkest Hour‘, ‘Friends With Benefits‘, ‘The Change-Up‘ and ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter‘. Plus exclusive footage from Daniel Radcliffe’s up-coming spooky flick ‘The Woman in Black‘ and a sneak peek at ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy‘ starring Gary Oldman and Colin Firth.

 

• The London Film Museum – London’s hottest movie museum has some exclusive items to showcase, including costumes from the ‘Bourne Ultimatum‘, ‘Highlander‘, ‘The Dark Knight‘, ‘Golden Compass‘, ‘Conan‘, and iconic ones worn by Peter Sellers, Christopher Lee and Sir Alec Guinness.

 

• Warner Bros. Studio Tour of ‘HARRY POTTER’ – Includes special guests from the cast and crew from one of the most popular movie franchises of all-time! You will have a chance to hear about the UK’s most highly anticipated visitor attraction, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter in a special live showcase culminating with an exciting announcement that both movie and Harry Potter fans will not want to miss!

 

• Movie master classes – Talented individuals such as Clint Mansell giving a talk on creating scores for movies such as ‘Black Swan‘ and ‘Moon‘, and Gareth Edwards discussing some of movie’s greatest monsters and the his views on the forthcoming ‘GODZILLA‘ reboot. Plus many more industry insiders!

 

There are also some exclusive full-length premieres taking place, including the eagerly anticipated ‘Cowboys & Aliens‘ and upcoming ‘Conan The Barbarian‘ remake!
