AL PACINO Puts Brush To Canvas For MATISSE Biopic!

Al Pacino is attached to play French artist Henri Matisse in Escape Artists‘ ‘Masterpiece‘ – according to Variety.

Deepa Mehta is attached to helm from a script by Donald Martin, and the flick will be based on the true story of Matisse‘s relationship with his nurse Monique Bourgeois, who also served as the painter’s model and muse.

Escape ArtistsTodd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal will produce the project, along with co-producer Chris Coggins.

Although still in its early stages of development, and has no start date, producers will soon begin casting for the two female leads.

Pacino is also set to play controversial record producer Phil Spector in an untitled HBO movie from writer-director David Mamet.
