Bookmakers Predict Oscar Victory For ‘KING’S SPEECH’!

British hit flick ‘The King’s Speech‘ is almost guaranteed to triumph at the Academy Awards later this month, with bookmakers giving it the shortest odds in Oscars history!

Bosses at the William Hill are so convinced the main honours at the upcoming ceremony are a foregone conclusion, they’ve already paid out on all bets on Colin Firth to win in the Best Actor category.

They previously slashed the odds to 1/66, beating their previous record rating of 1/50 for Dame Helen Mirren‘s portrayal of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 movie ‘The Queen‘. And they now make ‘The King’s Speech‘ 1/6 to scoop Best Film, down from its original odds of 15/8.

William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly says:

“We are so confident that Colin will win the Best Actor Oscar that we are now taking bets on how long his winner’s speech will be. He has already bagged the three big awards so far this year and is just 1/66 to scoop the biggest of them all.”

The 2011 Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 27 February, 2011.

As usual I shall be having a flutter on the Oscars, after shopping around for the best odds!
