Downey Jr. Pulls Out Of ‘OZ’ Prequel!

Robert Downey Jr. has reportedly dropped out of upcoming Disney movie ‘Oz: The Great And Powerful‘ and movie bosses are reportedly in talks with Johnny Depp to replace him as the wonderful wizard – according to Reuters!

The ‘Sherlock Holmes‘ star originally signed up to take on the lead role in the upcoming ‘Wizard Of Oz‘ prequel, which is based on the classic books by L. Frank Baum, and the movie is set be directed by Sam Raimi. The story will focus on an illusionist who flees a travelling circus in a hot air balloon, and is then caught up in a tornado which sweeps him to the land of Oz.

Disney bosses are apparently keen to sign up Depp, in light of Downey Jr.‘s departure, but it is not yet known whether the ‘Alice in Wonderland‘ star is likely to accept the offer.

Downey, Jr. recently quit another major movie role, dropping out of sci-fi movie Gravity with Sandra Bullock, but all is not lost…because George Clooney will be stepping into this role.

What’s going on, Robert? Been given a more tempting offer?
