JAMIE FOXX To Replace WILL SMITH In TARANTINO’s Western Movie?

By on 24 June, 2011

Word on the street is that Jamie Foxx is rumoured to be in negotiations to replace Will Smith in Quentin Tarantino‘s western ‘Django Unchained‘!

Although not officially confirmed by Tarantino, internet gossips suggest the Oscar-winner is a top choice to play the title character – a vengeful slave – in the movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio and ‘Inglourious Basterds‘ star Christoph Waltz have already signed on for the project. DiCaprio will reportedly play an evil plantation owner in the movie, which is due to hit cinemas around Christmas time next year (2012).

The Last King Of Scotland‘ star Kerry Washington is reportedly in talks to play Foxx‘s enslaved wife in the movie.

It’s a shame Will Smith is no longer doing this, as it could be exactly what his career needs right now! Unless he’s intentionally only sticking to ‘Men In Black‘ sequels?
