JULIA ORMOND To Star As SUPERMAN’s Mother?

Julia Ormond is reportedly in talks to star in ‘Superman: Man of Steel‘, as the titular superhero’s Kryptonian mother – according to Deadline.com!

The ‘My Week With Marilyn‘ actress is rumoured to be in negotiations with Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder to portray Lara Lor-Van, alongside Russell Crowe who is expected to take on the part of Jor-El, – the characters previously played by Marlon Brando and Susannah York in the original 1978 movie.

Crowe tweeted recently about his strict workout regime, as he aims to get fit for filming:

“Just like your muscle has memory, so does your body. If I stop exercising my body tries to return to its heaviest weight.

“Today body movement 1hr, 50min walk, 14km bike ride. Body movement can be anything as long as your heart rates up & you’re breathing deeply.”

Ormond and Crowe would be joining an impressive cast which includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Michael Shannon as villain General Zod and Amy Adams as Clark Kent‘s love interest Lois Lane.

Director Snyder recently insisted he is approaching the project with a clean slate – as if the five previous movies do not exist!

He said:

“Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there have been no other Superman movies. If you look at ‘Batman Begins’ there’s that structure: there’s the canon that we know about and respect, but on other hand there’s this approach that pre-supposes that there haven’t been any other movies. That’s what we’re going with.”

Ormond would make a great choice as Lara!
