Lost Welles Movie Closer To Being Released!

By on 24 January, 2011

The long-running court battle over Orson Wells‘ lost movie ‘The Other Side Of The Wind‘ is almost at an end – a decision about the movie’s release will be made “within weeks”, according to a lawyer working on the case!

The actor/helmer’s unfinished movie, starring John Huston and Jeanne Moreau, was shot in 1972 but has been held up for decades by complicated financial and ownership disputes.

However, Kenneth Sidle, a lawyer involved in the film rights dispute, has revealed some of the parties involved in the legal battle have now opted to sell their interests in the movie and negotiations about a cinema release are finally about to be concluded.

He tells The Observer newspaper:

“We are in negotiations for the picture, which would lead to the finishing and public exhibition. Hopefully within the next few weeks we will know.”
