What could Ralph Fiennes possibly have in common with Donald Pleasence, Telly Savalas, Charles Gray and Max von Sydow? Well, if recent rumours are to be believed, the ‘Harry Potter‘ star could well be playing James Bond‘s arch nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld!

Fiennes was not at the ‘Skyfall‘ press conference last week (w/c 31st October, 2011), as he was busy publicising his new flick ‘Coriolanus‘ (which he also helmed),  but the lucky folks at IFC had a chance to question the actor shortly after his role on the 23rd Bond movie was confirmed.

He said:

“If you’re a Bond fan, then you’ll be happy.”

“I can tell you that John Logan has written a fantastic screenplay and [director] Sam Mendes is a class act. They’re doing something quite special I think. I think they’re going to be great for Bond.”

Since it’s likely that he will be playing a villain, he was asked if he’s going to be involved in any stunt or action sequences – to which he coyly responded after a long pause:

“I can’t answer that question. I don’t get laid, that’s for sure.”

The Playlist also caught up with Fiennes to ask him about his Bond role, to which he said:

“I can’t say anything. I will not be stroking a white pussy!”

Some would say this is an out-right denial, but others may think this could be a case of no smoke without fire? After playing the dark and sinister Lord Voldemort, I’m sure he’ll make a great Blofeld – the ultimate Bond villain!

Directed by Sam Mendes, the movie will be released on the 26th October, 2012 in the U.K. before opening wide in U.S. cinemas on 9th November, 2012. For more release dates, click on the link below:
