WILL SMITH Exploring ANNIE Remake?

Will Smith and Sony are apparently looking into a potential remake of the classic hit musical ‘Annie‘, and the plan is to have his daughter Willow as the star, Variety reports!

Smith, who helped bring about ‘The Karate Kid‘ remake, starring his son Jaden, would produce, and the plan is to have rapper Jay-Z collaborate on the music side. However this project is still very much in the development stages, and reps have not revealed whether the redo would be a contemporary version, or whether it will include any of the original songs.

With the success of Sony‘s ‘The Karate Kid‘ last summer (which made more than $350 million worldwide), it was only a matter of time before movie execs looked towards their next remake project.

I’m just imagining what the remixed songs will sound like, and it makes me want to rip my ears off! I hope they decide on a whole new set of songs.
