Will DEPP Return For ‘PIRATES 5’?

By on 6 July, 2011

Just as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides‘ passes the $1 billion in world-wide box office profits, Reuters is reporting that Johnny Depp is poised to sign for a fifth movie. Are Disney are seeing pound dollar signs at the moment?

Back in May it was revealed a script for a fifth film was in the works and producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he had no plans to proceed without Depp. The ‘Alice In Wonderland‘ star said he’d be up for playing Captain Jack Sparrow again, but seemed interested in taking a break for a little while.

Despite the downturn in the U.S. domestic box-office of late, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides‘ has become the second highest grossing film of the year with $234 million (£146.2 million), closely behind ‘The Hangover Part II‘ with $248 million (£155 million).

The second movie, ‘Dead Man’s Chest‘, currently holds the worldwide record for the series with $1.066 billion.

Guy has played the same character in every role for the last ten years. WOW a quirky eccentric guy who insists upon himself. He used to be great. maybe he should do yet another Tim Burton movie. Wait hes working on one as we speak. What a douchebag.
