KEIRA KNIGHTLEY: ANNA KARENINA Movie Was Difficult.

Anna Karenina 2012 Trailer - Keira Knightley, Jude Law

Keira Knightley said that her latest movie, ‘Anna Karenina‘, was the ”hardest” film she’s ever done, and this was partly due to the complex writing!

The 27-year-old British star plays the titular character, an aristocrat in late-19th-century high society Russia who has an affair with Count Vronsky (played by Aaron Johnson) in the latest movie adaptation of a book by Leo Tolstoy. She also stars alongside Jude Law and Matthew Macfadyen.

Speaking about her attempts to get the balance of her character right, and of the author’s ”genius” and ”complex” writing, Knightley said:

“It was amazing. It was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. In a brilliant way, in a brilliant way.

“Obviously, Tolstoy was a genius and I think the reason that his books last so well – is because they are so complex and it’s really looking at the best of humanity and the worst of humanity, often in one character. And trying to balance all those things in the one person was really hard. And, hopefully it’s worked.”

Anna Karenina‘, directed by Joe Wright, will be released on the 9th November, 2012, and a brand new trailer for the movie has just been released. Check it out below!

I’m looking forward to watching this film even though I’m not much of a fan of Keira Knightley.
