Four Scribes Fight For FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Job!
Bret Easton Ellis is “disappointed” to have been ruled out of writing the screenplay for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey‘, and that leaves four script writers hoping to win the task of bringing this saucy story to the big screen!
‘American Psycho‘ author Ellis put himself forward to write the script and suggested Scarlett Johansson or Kristen Stewart should play the part of college graduate Anastasia Steele in the movie based on E.L. James‘ hit erotic thriller but is disappointed that he is not being considered.
He tweeted:
It's a very major disappointment to announce that I've somehow been taken off the list of possible screenwriters for Fifty Shades of Grey…

However according to The Hollywood Reporter, the scribes still being considered by Universal include Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud and Kelly Marcel have become the final quartet of candidates for the job.
Croner penned the Meryl Streep movie ‘One True Thing‘, Fogelman wrote the kid flicks ‘Bolt‘ and ‘Cars 2‘, Sud adapted ‘The Killing‘ for the U.S. audiences, and Marcel worked on ‘Terra Nova‘ and the upcoming ‘Saving Mr. Banks‘.
None of them are obvious favourites for the gig, but it could be between Marcel and Sud.
