INBETWEENERS Movie Sequel In The Works?
A sequel to ‘The Inbetweeners Movie‘ is in apparently in the works, and this means that Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison could bag around £2.5 million each. A step-up from the £500,000 they each received for the first movie!
The comedy series’ co-creator Damon Beesley is currently working with Ian Morris on the follow-up to the 2011 movie, which sees the actors play four socially-troubled adolescents who go on a lads’ holiday to Malia.
Speaking about the project, Beesley said:
“I don’t want to give too much away at this stage but yes, we have been developing an idea for a sequel.
“We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go.”
Beesley and Morris both want to ”do Justice” to the original film, and a source told The Sun newspaper:
“The Inbetweeners’ took off like a rocket, far beyond many expectations.
“The budget was low and no one got shedloads of money up front so understandably everyone wants to cash in the second time round.”
No firm story or plot has been confirmed, but rumours have suggested that it could be set around Neil‘s stag party (played by Blake Harrison). Whatever the storyline, I’m sure it’ll be as hilarious as the first movie.
