Sophie McShera To Star As Cinderella? - TOMORROW'S NEWS - The Latest Entertainment News Today!

Sophie McShera, better known for her role as kitchen maid Daisy in ‘Downton Abbey‘, is reportedly in talks to star in Disney’s forthcoming live action adaptation of the classic fairytale ‘Cinderella‘ – according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McShera is potentially up for the role of one of the evil stepsisters, and if successful she will join Holliday Grainger, who is set to play the other mean stepsister, in the movie which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh. ‘Downton‘ co-star Lily James will play the lead role of Cinderella, while ‘Game of Thrones‘ heart-throb Richard Madden is set to play the handsome prince who finds her missing glass shoe.

Meanwhile, McShera is due to reprise her role as Daisy for the fourth ‘Downton Abbey‘ season, which is currently being filmed.

Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is also attached to star in a leading role as Cinderella‘s evil stepmother, who, along with her daughters Drisella and Anastasia, constantly belittle the kind-hearted protagonist.

Although no exact release date has been given (sometime in 2014), filming is due to begin in London later this year!
