STELLA MCCARTNEY And ANGELINA JOLIE Design MALEFICENT Fashion Range!
Angelina Jolie and Stella McCartney have worked together on a new fashion collection inspired the new Disney movie ‘Maleficent‘.
The 38-year-old actress, who is set to play the ‘Sleeping Beauty‘ evil fairy in the new film, has collaborated with the acclaimed fashion designer and Disney on a new capsule collection of children’s clothing.
Speaking to WWD, Stella said:
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did. When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance.
“There is a bit of a darkness to ‘Maleficent’ which can be really scary at times but at the same time visually brilliant.”
The collection, which will be available at Disney shops worldwide and online, includes princess dresses, sandals, edgy T-shirts and sports shoes for both boys and girls aged four to 14.
The designer pieces will set parents back a fair few quid, however, as the collection will retail from £45, up to around a whopping £110. Stella will also sell the clothing at her own stores and online, with 10 per cent of proceeds from sales in her stores going to the SOS Children’s Villages charity, which provides support and housing for underprivileged children.
This isn’t Stella’ first collaboration with Disney, as she previously produced a jewellery range to tie in with 2010 blockbuster ‘Alice in Wonderland‘.
