DAVID GOYER Chosen To Pen ‘GODZILLA’ Reboot!

Screenwriter David Goyer has been chosen to pen a new screenplay, originally drafted by David Callaham, for Legendary Pictures‘ new GODZILLA reboot – according to Deadline!

Goyer has worked on Chris Nolan‘s Batman trilogy and on the forth-coming ‘Superman: Man Of Steel‘, so you could say that he’s more than familiar with bringing classic characters back to the big screen!

The project will fall under Legendary‘s overall agreement with Warner Bros. while Toho Company, which owns the rights to the super-sized reptile, will distribute the movie in Japan. Toho’s ‘Godzilla‘ franchise boasts one of the most widely recognised film creatures worldwide, resulting in a series of books, television programs, video games and more than 25 films worldwide!

Legendary is intending to approach the movie and its characters in the most authentic way possible, hopefully trumping Sony Pictures‘ 1998 version – which shouldn’t be too hard!

Gareth Edwards is attached to helm the Legendary project. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce on behalf of the studio.
