Drew Barrymore Is Weary Of Social Networking Sites.

Fans of Drew Barrymore will be waiting a long while for her to update her Twitter or Facebook, because the she hates the “lack of privacy” on social networking sites.

The 35 year old refuses to sign up to any of the popular websites – used by famous fans including Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria Parker – because she much prefers keeping in touch with her pals by telephone. However there are quite a few accounts who claim to be her.

Barrymore admits she’s also scared by the amount of personal information stored on the sites – and she’s sure the tell-all culture will eventually kill the mystery of romance.

She tells UK’s Marie Claire magazine:

“The fact that I’m begging for a phone call is pathetic in this age of technology. Plans are made by text – I can’t stand it.

“I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over-information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world. If you meet someone, they already know everything.

“What about showing up on the date and saying, ‘What do you do for a living? Who are your friends?’ Yes, you can avoid maybe a serial killer, but who f**king knows? I am a romantic and it scares me.”
