ANNA WINTOUR: “I’m Not A Powerful Person.”

US Vogue editor Anna Wintour claims she doesn’t see herself as a ”powerful person”, despite being regarded as one of the most influential people in the world of fashion!

She says while her position enables her to get nicer things in life, she enjoys being able to help out people, stating:

“I don’t think of myself as a powerful person. You know, what does it mean? It means you get a better seat in a restaurant or tickets to a screening or whatever it may be. But it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to help others, and for that I’m extremely grateful.”

Wintour also mentioned that she’s hates the stereotype powerful women are given because men in the same position would never get the same comments.

In an interview with Forbes, she adds:

“It’s not so much about powerful women. In some cases, there are stereotypes about women. I often don’t hear men talked about in the same way. It’s more a sexist stereotype than a powerful stereotype.”

But ultimately it’s the “girl on the street” who inspire her fashion sense, despite having access to some of the world’s most glamorous women!
She said:

“I’m interested in seeing just the girl on the street because she is unlike any other. I’m inspired by whatever it is she might be wearing.”
