MATT BOMER Overwhelmed By Support After Coming Out!
Actor Matt Bomer says he was moved to tears after a member of the military thanked him for “coming out” as gay!
The ‘White Collar‘ star confirmed his sexuality when he publicly acknowledged his partner Simon Halls while accepting an award for HIV/AIDS activism in February (2012), and admits he has been overwhelmed by the amount of support he has since received.
Speaking to E! Online, he says:
“I had somebody from the military approach me a few weeks ago just saying how this (coming out) helps people, affects people. It brought me to tears.”
Bomer, who has three kids with Halls, hopes his big step will inspire others to make a difference in the gay community by following suit, adding:
“They (young people) need saving, certainly in this day and age as much as ever – no matter how much we think we’ve progressed… What we really have to do is stop the adjective before the job title – whether it’s ‘black actor,’ a ‘gay actor’ or ‘anything actor’.
“Everybody thinks that equality comes from identifying people, and that’s not where equality comes from. Equality comes from treating everybody the same regardless of who they are… It’s time to move out of 1992.”

Matt is absolutely gorgeous! Ok, so he’s gay, and while I wished he was straight (not that it would get me far with him anyway), as long as he’s happy that’s the main thing. It’s not like he’s harming anyone! Thanks for posting this anyway.
