OPRAH Brings In Her Largest Audience Rating for 17 Years!

By on 26 May, 2011

So it’s goodbye from the ultimate queen of American chatshow, Oprah Winfrey, and boy did she go out on a high note!

The final episode of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show‘ yesterday posted a 13.3 million household viewer rating in the overnight metered markets. The prelim number (which does not include the St. Louis market, where Oprah was preempted for storm coverage) turned out to be her highest-rated show in 17 years, since a February 1994 show titled People Shed Their Disguises.

It’s been an emotional final week for Oprah, what with leaving an iconic chatshow and the network hoping for a large viewer send-off. On Monday, the show drew a 10.2 overnight rating, on Tuesday 10.7, leading to the respectable 13.3 for the finale.

Way to go, Oprah! Well done.
