‘PAN AM’ Drama Pilot Picked Up By ABC!

By on 26 January, 2011

The ABC network has been busy of late, renewing various TV shows and picking up new pilots. One interesting green-lit project is a period drama pilot ‘Pan Am‘, from Sony Pictures TV and ‘ER‘ producer/writer Jack Orman Deadline reports.

Orman penned the script and Thomas Schlamme is on board to direct the pilot, described as a sexy soap set against the Jet-Age about airline pilots and flight attendants working at the iconic Pan Am airline in the 1960s. Exec producers include Orman, Schlamme and producer Nancy Hult Ganis, who is a former Pan Am flight attendant and the driving force behind the project. Ganis‘ husband, fellow producer Sid Ganis, will co-executive produce.

I’m a huge fan of period dramas, so will be looking forward to this one!
