Reitman To Work On A BAYWATCH Comedy?

‘Ghostbusters‘ helmer Ivan Reitman is reportedly working on a plan to turn the ‘Baywatch‘ franchise into a new movie comedy. Ehh?

The movie mogul has revealed there’s a “classical idea” on the table to bring back the surf soap TV series for a new generation and he’s just waiting for the right script.

He tells The Hollywood Reporter:

“We still don’t have a script that’s makeable (but) I think it’s a big opportunity.

“This is a comedy, and I think we have a very interesting take – a classical idea that will be fresh for the world audience.”

I always thought ‘Baywatch‘ was a comedy? No?

Were we really supposed to take that show seriously?
