THE INTERNSHIP – Review

THE INTERNSHIP, Vince Vaughn Owen Wilson - Film Review! - TOMORROW'S NEWS - The Latest Entertainment News Today!

If, like me, you saw ‘Wedding Crashers‘ 8 years ago and have been anticipating the rekindling of the comedic chemistry between Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in this movie, well, all I can say is do not build your hopes up.

Once again Vaughn and Wilson are paired together to tell the story of two out of work 40 somethings competing for unpaid internships against some of the countries’ élite. Billy (Vaughn) and Nick (Wilson) lead their group of fellow misfits through some real life experiences whilst the group help them through the technical side of the programme.

If you can do the near impossible task of looking past the shameless product placement throughout the film, you will enjoy a few moments of genius from the pair but the characters as with the scripts are your predictable, generic Hollywood nonsense and frankly tiresome. If you watch this expecting it to be as funny as Wedding Crashers then you will be very disappointed.

OWEN WILSON and VINCE VAUGHN In THE INTERNSHIP - FILM REVIEW! - TOMORROW'S NEWS - The Latest Entertainment News Today!

It appears to me that this movie was put together for the sole purpose of letting the world know how wonderful Google is. This film may have done better at the Box Office if Google had learned to have a laugh at themselves. There is not one joke throughout the film which mocks the company at all.

Despite this, you still find yourself rooting for the two hapless characters and although this was never meant to be anybody’s favourite film of all time, it is extremely difficult to like.

The Internship‘ – 4/10
