HEMSWORTH Disappointed BRANAGH Won’t Be Helming ‘THOR’ Sequel!

Actor Chris Hemsworth has spoken of his disappointment that ‘THOR‘ helmer Kenneth Branagh won’t be returning for the sequel, even though he was offered!

Speaking to The LA Times at the San Diego Comic-Con, the Aussie star said:

“Ken built that character, and everything I know about the Thor world I learned while shoulder-to-shoulder with Ken… As long as he’s happy, that’s the thing.

“I learned so much from Ken while we built [the first film], so at least I had that time with someone like that. The start of anything creative is the most important period in a way. That’s when the most can go wrong, and Ken made sure we got it right.”

Despite ‘THOR‘ grossing nearly half a billion dollars worldwide, Branagh could not be tempted to helm the sequel, especially since Marvel were keen to push out another movie for Summer 2013. You can’t rush a genius!

But life goes on, as the 50-year-old moviemaker is keeping busy by reprising the title role in the third season of the BBC‘s acclaimed Sweden-based detective drama ‘Wallander‘. The thesp is also working with a theatre group in Belfast.
