Samuel L. Jackson, Robocop Remake

Samuel L. Jackson will be joining the cast of Jose Padilha‘s ‘Robocop‘ remake, according to Heat Vision!

Joel Kinnaman, star of ‘The Killing‘, will play cop Alex Murphy who is brought back to life and turned into a cyborg police officer, via a helping hand from a scientist creator (played by Gary Oldman).

Jackson has been cast as Pat Novak, a “charismatic media mogul” and a powerful force in the Robocop world.

Marc Abraham and Eric Newman from Strike Entertainment will produce the movie, and the aim is to begin lensing in September 2012, in Toronto. While no firm release date has been set, they are circling a Summer 2013 release!

Will they manage to outclass the original?
