Unseen PROMETHEUS Footage To Feature In DVD/Blu-ray Release!

Guy Pearce, Prometheus, Uncut

For those who have seen ‘Prometheus‘, did you find anything on some of the unanswered questions from the movie? Fear not, as some of these may be answered in the upcoming DVD & Blu-ray release!

Scheduled for an Autumn release (9th October, 2012), helmer Ridley Scott has revealed that there will be around 30 minutes of deleted scenes that fans can look forward, which will be included on the extended cut version of the disc. That said, he tells Collider.com that the cinema version is:

“…fundamentally the director’s cut… I’m so happy with this engine, the way it is right now. I think it’s fine. I think it works.”

It’s nice to see that even though he’s happy with his final piece, he’s still keen on pleasing the die-hard sci-fi fans, as he talks about the home release:

“…there will be half an hour of stuff on the menu because people are so into films… if you really want to tap in, look at the menu. To see how things are long, and it’s too long. Dramatically, I’m about putting bums on seats. For me to separate my idea of commerce from art—I’d be a fool. You can’t do that. I wouldn’t be allowed to do the films I do. So I’m very user-friendly as far as the studios are concerned.

“To a certain extent, I’m a businessman. I’m aware that’s what I have to do. It’s my job. To say, “Screw the audience.” You can’t do that. “Am I communicating?” is the question. Am I communicating? Because if I’m not, I need to address it.”

Meanwhile, Amazon is already taking orders for the DVD & Blu-ray release in the U.S., and details of this can be found here.
