DOROTHY GALE Not Appearing In OZ Sequel?

With the success of Disney‘s ‘OZ The Great and Powerful‘, conversations appear to have taken place regarding a potential sequel, but surprisingly enough without the famous heroine Dorothy Gale – according to the LA Times!

 

Producers Joe Roth and Mitchell Kapner have spoken about how they saw sequel to the Great and Powerful, which would include a lot of Baum‘s characters, except for Dorothy.
 

The end of the movie obviously leaves it open for a sequel (or two), and Kapner stresses that there is still a myriad of untapped stories to delve into.

He says:

“It’s 20 years before Dorothy arrives. A lot can happen in that time.”

I like the sound of this!
