Helmer Rian Johnson and Netflix have just signed ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ star Dave Bautista to join Daniel Craig in the anticipated follow-up to the 2019 mystery movie, according to Deadline.

Craig will be reprising his role as Benoit Blanc in the ‘Knives Out‘ sequel as the detective tries to solve another crime. Although Bautista’s role also a mystery for the time being, this will be something of a reunion for Craig and Bautista, following their time acting alongside each other in the James Bond movie ‘Spectre‘.

Johnson is once again returning as director as well as writing the script, after having secured a $400 million plus deal with Netflix for two sequels. Production on this first follow-up is due to begin in Greece later this summer (2021).

Bautista will also be reprising his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ member Drax The Destroyer in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘, the latter of which Bautista has said will likely be his last time portraying Drax in the MCU.
