HENRY CAVILL’s Frustrated At Being Unable To Reveal SUPERMAN News!

 

New ‘Superman‘ Henry Cavill was left frustrated after learning he’d been picked to play the new Man of Steel on the big screen – because he couldn’t reach anyone to celebrate!

‘The Tudors‘ heartthrob tried to call his girlfriend and his parents after hearing the life-changing news from director Zach Snyder two weeks after his audition last October (2010) – but no one answered.

In a candid interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine, he says:

“I was like, ‘This is ridiculous! I’ve just been given the biggest job in history, and nobody’s picking up their bl**dy phones.'”

Cavill wasn’t totally convinced that he could win the part, as he admits:

“All I could think was, ‘Oh, God, they’re going to look at me and go he’s not Superman. Not a chance’. The actor inside me was going, ‘You’re not ready! You’re not ready!'”

But one person, helmer Zack Snyder, knew instantly that he had found his leading man when Cavill wore the famous superhero suit for the audition process.

Snyder says: 

“If you can put on that suit and pull it off, that’s an awesome achievement. Henry walked out and no one laughed. Other actors put that suit on and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors”.

“Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go, ‘Wow. OK, this is Superman’.”

As far as I’m concerned, he’s the perfect choice – regardless of him being a Brit! Brandon Routh may not have been the best casting choice for ‘Superman Returns‘, but all that is in the past now (thankfully)!
