MUTYA KEISHA SIOBHAN Have Not Been Dropped From Record Label!
British trio Mutya Keisha Siobhan have slammed reports suggesting they have been dropped from their record label, after their comeback release failed secure a successful return to the U.K. singles chart!
Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy (the original members of the Sugababes) officially reunited in 2012 and relaunched themselves under the new band name Mutya Keisha Siobhan. Their first single, Flatline, was released in September 2013, but the song only peaked at 50 in the U.K chart, which fuelled recent rumours suggesting they had split from label bosses at Polydor.
However, Buchanan stresses that there is no truth to the claims and insists the low charting of Flatline was to be expected as they decided against a huge promotional push for the project.
Speaking to NME.com, she said:
“We’re still with Polydor. 100 per cent. For us we weren’t expecting the single to chart…
“If we’d done more TV and there had been more promotion around us then we definitely would have had a bigger single. But it did what we wanted it to do… For us, I mean I’m not gonna say chart position isn’t important, but we are about the album.”
Mutya Keisha Siobhan are currently preparing to unveil their debut album early 2014!
