STARS DANCE – Not The Usual SELENA GOMEZ Album?
The opening song from the new Selena Gomez album Stars Dance is a bit scary, as it sounds very different from the Selena we know! Beats are broken, and it all goes M.I.A. Luckily, the rest of the tracks are what her fans love – simple, beautiful, perfect dance pop songs.
Selena is 21 but little has changed in terms of her music, maybe its a little more dance than pop at the moment. Like a Champion sounds very Caribbean for example and Save the Day sounds really Latino. Then there are other tracks which sound very Europop or Electronica. For example Write Your Name sounds like a track that would have been written for INNA or Ellie Goulding.
However, Princess of Pop does know where she is going and her style is very established. She really doesn’t need to experiment, or change styles for every album like Madonna or Linkin Park. She proves this best at the end of the album, with songs like Nobody Does It Like You and Music Feels Better With You.
